A visit to a Church such as this, often poses the question
WHAT’S IT ALL ABOUT?
and whole books have been written to try to answer just that.

Here on this very site in Bishopston, Christians have met for over 1500 years - why ?

Because Christians try to follow and live in the spirit of a man named Jesus Christ. He lived in Israel over 2000 years ago and during his active ministry of 3 years, showed by His teaching and words, what God is like.
With power and in a unique way, he called ordinary men and women (just like you and me) to follow him. The challenge was to live lives of love, forgiveness and neighbourliness and for this the men of power of his day executed him by crucifixion.

But within 3 days his followers ( known as disciples ) knew that death could not hold him. He Was and Is alive. Goodness must ultimately triumph over evil, life over death so…………

The church is made up of ordinary folk like you and me – folk wanting to know more about Jesus and his teaching and wanting to worship with like-minded people.

The church helps us to set standards and to live lives that lead to –

The God who made us and creation.
His Son, Jesus Christ, who lives on to show us the way to live.
God’s Holy Spirit that actually gives us power NOW.
